Requirements for the Atlantic Immigration Program
To be eligible for the Atlantic Immigration Program, applicants must meet specific criteria.
First, you need qualifying work experience in designated National Occupational Classification (NOC) categories over the past five years, with a minimum of 1,560 hours worked.
Educational requirements vary based on the NOC category of the job offer, ranging from a one-year Canadian post-secondary credential for TEER 0 or 1 to a Canadian high school diploma for TEER 2, 3, or 4.
Language proficiency, assessed using Canadian Language Benchmarks or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens, must meet specified levels.
Additionally, applicants must demonstrate settlement funds to support themselves and their families upon arrival in Canada, with the required amount depending on family size.
Exemptions exist for international graduates meeting specific criteria, and current Canadian residents with valid work permits may be exempt from proof of settlement funds.
If all requirements are satisfied, applicants can seek employment with a designated Atlantic employer.
