Here are the steps to take if your study permit in Canada has expired. 

You can restore your student status by paying a restoration fee of $350, covering both the restoration ($200) and a new study permit ($150).

Losing student status occurs if your permit expires before renewal and, if you made unauthorized changes to your permit conditions or if conditions need to be respected.

To regain status, applicants must apply for a new study permit, seek restoration of temporary resident status, and pay the required fees. 

Individuals can stay in Canada during processing, but approval is not guaranteed. 

The restoration process involves selecting "Restore my status" on the application form, including an explanatory note, and submitting the restoration fee.

Successful restoration results in a new study permit, extending temporary resident status until a specified date. Family members accompanying the applicant may also need to restore their status.
